Twitter continues to be brilliant: exclusive bit of news direct from James Roberts, news editor of F1 Racing: there will be an interview with the Delightfully Northern Dr. Rob Smedley in their next issue, which hits newsagents on November 24th (and subscribers' doormats a wee bit earlier, I hope). SDFJKLDF. I shall sit and wonder what topics might be covered, and what photos might be included, until then.

Related: small, watermarked-to-fuck photos of Dr. Rob looking srs bsns I found a while ago )

Also related: Wondering why Rob is now Dr. Rob? He's being given an honorary degree by Teesside University on November 27th at Middlesbrough Town Hall. He will become a Doctor of Professional Studies.

Also also related: To be filed under 'things I didn't know', Rob attended Fisi's October wedding. Bless.

Unrelated: I HAVE FIXED MY MOOD THEME SO IT SHOWS UP AND MY LAYOUT SO PHOTOS DON'T FALL OFF THE END YAAAAY

Sometimes I totally understand when actors say they get so caught up into their characters they actually *become* someone else.

I'm rewriting a very old story right now, trying to make it into a novel. It's a story that affected me a LOT the first time I wrote it, and I'm finding that the second pass through it is no different. I've written on and off most of the day, and I finally had to stop. Especially when my husband started playing Mogwai in the other room. For some reason the music combined with this intense story and made me shiver.

I can see I'll be reliving poor Jeff's horror and strife all over again.

Last time this happened I lost weight...hopefully it will happen again this time.

While I'm at it, I'll throw in another plug for our page over at the GLBT bookself...Make your Yuletide...Gay!...use the 15% dicount to buy yourself a title you've always wanted...or stuff a friend's stocking.

So after missing work Wednesday thanks to my ER visit and Thursday thanks to some residual gross-feeling-ness and a bad migraine, I managed to make it through the day on Friday, making it a 24-hour week.

Of course, by the middle of the day Friday I was feeling crappy in an entirely different way than Tuesday night's stomach disaster and Thursday's migraine. Because it's the first week of November, which means I have to get a cold. I thought maybe I'd escape it this year; when I'm in school, I get wicked burned out the last week of October, and I was hoping the cold was a result of that. But no.

Because all the pictures of Kevin with ladies' shoes in Milan made me so happy, have 600 words of Kevin-is-a-crossdresser fic )

The Department of Labor's employment data for the month of October was released today. It seems the nightmare isn't over. Oh no, my children, it seems the nightmare has only just begun.

The following is from an article that appears today on Bloomberg.com:

By Timothy R. Homan

Nov. 6 (Bloomberg) -- The unemployment rate in the U.S. jumped to 10.2 percent in October, the highest level since 1983, casting a pall over the prospects for a sustained recovery and risking further erosion of President Barack Obama’s popularity.

Payrolls fell by 190,000 last month, more than forecast by economists, a Labor Department report showed today in Washington. The jobless rate rose from 9.8 percent in September. Factory payrolls dropped by the most in four months, and the average workweek held at a record low.

I am cranky.

My head hurts, my right eye hurts, my right ear feels like someone/something tries to stick a fork in it. The nephritis I'm having doesn't want to go away. No really, that's just not funny. I need my body. :/

The disintegrating of the screen of my laptop is getting worse. No, like really bad.

I fucked up ficfinishing and now it looks like I fall of the MiniNano waggon too. I'll keep on trying though.

And I'm feeling like the shit, because I know while I keep whining there's a bunch load of people on my f'list having a hard time on their own and don't need me yapping about. So sorry about that, you guys.

*shuts her cakehole*

I maybe, maybe, maybe (maybe? Maeby?) got a seasonal job at Macy's despite not being able to work until mid December. Even though winter break is technically my vacation from college, I opted to work ANY hour.

If you'll take anything and/or want experience in retail, I encourage y'all to apply for seasonal work RIGHT NOW in any popular store that has such a position! Don't just apply for one position. I applied for 14 similar positions at 3 different stores (and that was the maximum they would allow for applying).

And yes, they had one of those dorky ridiculously long questionnaires. I put Strongly Agree or Strongly Disagree at the appropriate places, nothing remotely in between.

Because no post would be complete without a profound loser comment:
Why do I find phone interviews so fun even though I have telephone-usage anxiety?

I'm a 20 year old Army wife, my work experience  includes:
Papa Johns Pizza
Walgreens Pharmacy Technician and Cashier
A pizza place and cleaning job in Ireland
And a nanny

however, I guess it seems not to be enough when I apply for jobs.

It's like every time I apply too late , or the times they need people I can't work, because me and my husband have only one car in between us, and his is stick shift. And for me to get a car, I need money which means a job. I don't mind having to walk an hour to go to work though. And it seems everytime I call a place asking to speak to the manager, they always say the manager isn't there or w/e. It's like shouldn't there always be a manager on site??? And when I actually take the time to walk to the store to talk to a manager, they're not on site either....

I'm sorry I'm ranting. It funny how people think Army people make alot, but they don't really unless they're higher rank. And me having a job would really help with bills and groceries and extra spending money and a car. I've been jobless since April 2008 and so far no luck with anything.

It's lame... ._.;;
